Do I need a doctor’s referral to attend Clifton Beach Physiotherapy?

No, you don’t. While Physiotherapists often work closely with GPs, surgeons and other health clinicians to plan and manage your treatment, we are also first-contact health professionals.

Do you accept Workers Compensation patients?

Yes. If you have been injured at your workplace, please see your GP for a worker’s compensation medical certificate. Don’t worry if you have not yet received your claim number; delaying your physio treatment could extend your recovery time.

Just let our friendly reception staff know and they will get it from you at a later date.

Do you accept patients who have claimed for treatment through their Motor Vehicle Insurance?

Yes. You will need a referral from your doctor. Please also bring any paperwork sent to you by your insurer.

Do you see DVA patients?

Yes, you will just need to bring in your D904 referral from your GP.

Do you have EFTPOS?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards, including AMEX.

Do you have HICAPS?

Yes, just bring your health fund card and we can bill your health fund directly for your treatment.

I have private health cover with extras. What will my out-of-pocket expenses be?

We offer an on-the-spot quoting facility for most health funds through HICAPS, so just bring your card in and we can give you an instant quote. Otherwise, you can contact your health fund directly.

Do you offer pensioner concessions?

Yes, we do. At Clifton Beach Physiotherapy, we believe physiotherapy should be accessible to anyone who needs it. If you have a Centrelink Health Care Card, please bring it with you and we can offer you a substantial discount.

What should I wear to my first visit?

Your physiotherapist will need to look at the injured area, so it is important for you to wear clothes that allow access to that body part while retaining your modesty! Your physiotherapist will use towels to cover you so that you feel comfortable throughout your treatment.

How long will my appointment take?

About 30 minutes, depending on your individual needs.

Do you do home visits?

Yes. If you or your loved one is unable to attend the clinic, we can come to you. Please contact us to discuss a suitable appointment time and the costs involved.

This technique is also known as trigger point acupuncture and can be used very effectively to treat muscle contraction knots and associated pain.

I’m pregnant. Can I still get treatment?

Yes. Change to muscles, ligaments and joints during and after pregnancy affect the whole body. Our Physiotherapists can help women manage these changes, providing expert care and advice during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.

What if I am late?

If you arrive late for your appointment, please be aware that your appointment time may be shortened, otherwise our later patients will be inconvenienced.
